Ex-Chelsea Coach, Conte Sues Club, Demands 8.7m Pounds For Damages In Addition To 11.3m Pounds Pay-off

Antonio Conte is suing Chelsea for £8.7m – on top of the £11m he still wants for the last year of his contract, according to Daily Sun UK.

The Italian, who won the Premier League and FA Cup during a two-year spell in charge at Stamford Bridge, was axed just 55 days after the end of last season.

A bitter fall-out has ensued since with that showing no signs of coming to a halt anytime soon, report Gazetta dello Sport.

The Italian publication claim that Conte is locked in a legal battle with the Blues, not only over the £11.3m he’s owed for the final year of his contract – but also as much as £8.7m in damages.

Conte was rather bizarrely in charge for the first day of pre-season training, before Roman Abramovich finally pulled the trigger and landed Maurizio Sarri from Napoli.

Conte, 49, claims the circumstances regarding his dismissal have affected his chances of landing a big job since.

Chelsea are working hard to reach a settlement, but the newspaper further claim that Conte has missed two meetings with the club’s lawyers – and wants to drag the matter out as much as possible.

The Blues’ counter argument in the saga is that Conte cost them money when he sent Diego Costa a text message saying he should find a new club.

This resulted in a major bust-up between the duo, with the now Atletico Madrid forward blaming him for his messy exit from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea also claim that Conte was regularly late for his media duties and was absent from sponsorship commitments on occasions.

But quite incredibly they have also lodged a complaint that he parked his car in spaces not assigned to him at the club’s Cobham training base.

Conte was in line to replace Julen Lopetegui at Real Madrid, but that was reportedly blocked over his request to bring in a large backroom team.

Therefore, the Italian is prepared to play the long game and fight the case until the end as a matter of honour.

Allegri Backs Ronaldo To Score Against Manchester United

The Portuguese star has yet to score for his new club in the Europe, but his manager believes that will change on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo…

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri backed Cristiano Ronaldo to score against former club Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ronaldo is yet to open his account for Juve in European competition, having been sent off against Valencia before helping his side past United at Old Trafford last month.

The 33-year-old was sent off in his first Champions League match for the Italian giants, a 2-0 win over Valencia, and was suspended for the club’s second match of the campaign.
Juventus managed to win both of those matches without him, and the Portuguese superstar made his return to Europe’s top club competition in a 1-0 win over former club Manchester United at Old Trafford

Ronaldo’s cross from the right side set the table for Paulo Dybala’s winner in that contest, but he extended his personal scoreless run the Champions League to five matches, his last goal coming against his current club back in April.

Allegri, however, doesn’t believe his star man’s run without a goal will continue for much longer and has backed him to find the net against Jose Mourinho’s outfit on Wednesday.

“He will score [on Wednesday],” he said.

“He didn’t play the first match, he didn’t play the second, he played only one match. And he provided an assist.
“I mean, it’s not like he played many Champions League matches so far.”

Manchester United have won their last two Champions League matches away to Juventus, in 1999 and 2003, but the Serie A side have lost just once in 35 home games in the competition since last facing United in Turin.

But Jose Mourinho’s side enter the contest on a barren run in Europe, having failed to score in each of their last two matches in the competition.

Juventus hold a perfect record in Group H and will seal their place in the knockout stage if they avoid defeat against United.

Should Ronaldo score in Wednesday’s contest he will extend his own record as the top scorer in Champions League history.

To date he has netted 120 times, with Barcelona star Lionel Messi sitting just behind him on the all-time list .

“Why I Left Real Madrid” – Juventus Star, Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo left the Bernabeu to go to Juventus after the World Cup after he fell out of love with Real Madrid
However he has confirmed that this was not for sporting reasons, but due to a break down in relations with the club’s president – Florentino Perez.

Perez is renowned as a shrewd, ruthless operator and according to an interview with ‘France Football’, his treatment of Ronaldo as a commodity rather than a person angered the former Manchester United man.
“I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” he commented.
“In the first four or five years there, I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’. Less afterwards. The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.
“That’s what made me think about leaving. Sometimes I’d look at the news, where they were saying I was asking to leave. There was a bit of that, but the truth is that I always had the impression that the president would not hold me back.
”If it had all been about money, I’d have moved to China, where I would have earned five times as much than here [at Juventus] or at Real.

I did not come to Juve for the money. I earned the same in Madrid, if not more. The difference is that, at Juve, they really wanted me. They told me that and made it clear. They showed me that.”

He continued to criticise the Real chief, saying: “He only ever looked at me as a business relationship. I know it. What he told me never came from the heart.”

It had been suggested that Ronaldo left due to Zinedine Zidane’s departure as manager but he denied this, saying:

“My decision to leave was not based on his departure. That being the case, it’s one of those little things that made me feel a bit better in terms of what I thought of the situation at the club.”
